Pokémon Go generated almost a billion in revenues in 2016

From the market research firm App Annie announced info about mobile game Pokemon Go generated revenue estimate 950 million dollars in the year 2016. The developer studio Niantic Labs published the game on July 6, 2016 or within 6 months after released. Within 2 months Pokemon Go has been downloaded over 500 million times.

At the CES, Archit Bhargave of Niantic recently revealed that a total of 8.7 billion kilometers were run in the game.

The game reported revenue of $ 800 million already 110 days after release. A further 150 million were added by the end of the year. This makes Pokémon Go the most successful game on iOS and Google Play. In sales it ranks third behind Monster Strike and Clash Royale. But it also had less time.

“This was far faster than some of the most successful mobile games of all time. To put Pokémon Go’s success in a broader perspective, its global consumer spend in 2016 exceeded the total worldwide box office gross of Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice,” App Annie said.
