Skype Translator: voice translation for calls to mobiles and landlines

After introduction in 2014, Skype Translator has been developed to be easier for users to talk with people at anywhere in this world. It becomes a reality not dream or in Doraemon Japanese cartoon. Microsoft had now taken a big step forward – the Skype for Windows 10 will now support translation of telephone calls (cell and landline) in real time.

Currently the function is part of Skype Preview, which means they have access to it only to those users of Windows 10 who are involved in the program Windows Insider. Meanwhile, automatic voice translation (or interpretation) supported for 9 languages such as English, Spanish, French, German, Mandarin Chinese, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Arabic and Russian.

However, it is not free – you need to have Skype Credit or a subscription to use. To view the new options Skype Translator enough to enable dial in and dial on it a coveted destination number. Subsequently, you can choose in which language (9 languages) you want to translate. It is not yet clear which platforms and in which languages is Skype Translator spread.

This new version of Skype Preview also includes additional features such as:

  • Introduce friends and family on Skype by sharing their Skype contact details
  • Capture and share video messages with friends and family on Skype—even if they’re not online
  • Manage your conversations and save time by marking conversations as read or unread
  • Don’t miss another call by forwarding them to a mobile or landline*
