Viking Technology introduced the world largest SSD to the market with the capacity up to 50TB. It is a model Ultra-High-Capacity Silo SSD that is available in 2 capacities 25TB and 50 TB, which is a largest SSD in the world bigger than the prior record holder Samsung PM1633a with a capacity 15TB!
The new SSD is designed for data centers and supports 1 drive writes per day (DWPD) for 5 years. Per datasheet the performance of UHC-SILO SSD has the sequential write at 350 MB/sec and sequential read speed: 500 MB/sec, random read/write data with up to 60,000/15,000 IOps (4 KB) and A 3.5inch SSD connected through a 6 Gb/sec SAS interface.
UHS-Silo SSDs are already available to order for both 25TB and 50TB, but Viking Technology did not reveal their price but the manufacturer says that the two drives are priced at around $0.40 per GB. It can estimate price for the 25 TB drive at more $10,000 and $20,000 for 50TB. However, when it is the standard capacity for SSD price will became cheap and cheaper than this.
So, wait and see once it available in the market.
